Cookie Policy

Cookies and browser storage on this website, explained in a few short sections.

zycroix operates zycroix.com. This page sets out which entries the site places on your device, why they are used, what happens when a cookie notice is accepted or rejected, and how an answer can be withdrawn.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a short piece of text that a site leaves in your browser to remember a setting or a choice. Browsers have a comparable local storage area for small entries that stay until they are deleted, and this policy treats both in the same way.

Which cookies this website uses

zycroix.com presents information and contact details; it has no user accounts and no online shop, so very few entries are needed. Strictly necessary entries keep the pages working and secure, including any value that records your answer to a cookie notice, and they do not require consent.

The server that delivers this website sets one cookie of this kind. It contains only a random value, nothing that identifies you by name, and serves to recognise a returning browser and to protect the site against automated abuse. The cookie is renewed whenever you come back and is deleted 30 days after your last visit.

Advertising, tracking and personal data

This website carries no advertising or retargeting cookies and no cross-site tracking of any kind, and we do not create visitor profiles. Entries that can be linked to a person are personal data: the privacy policy of zycroix sets out the purposes, the legal grounds, the retention and your rights.

Consent and the cookie notice

Where this website shows a cookie notice, it appears on the first visit with one button to accept and one to decline. Your answer is then kept as a single value in the local storage of that browser (localStorage), and the notice sets no cookie of its own. In another browser, on another device or where storage is blocked, it is shown again.

Storage periods

Session entries disappear when the browser window is closed, while others are given a set lifetime so that a preference survives until you come back. The answer saved by the cookie notice does not expire and remains until you or your browser remove it.

Changing your choice later

Changing your mind is simple: remove the stored data of this website in your browser settings and reload a page, and the previous answer is replaced by a new one the next time you are asked. Browsers also let you manage cookies for one site or for all of them, usually in their privacy settings.

Content embedded from other providers

At present no content from other providers with cookies of its own is built into this website. Should a map or a video be embedded in future, its provider may store information on your device as soon as it is shown, and this page would be changed before that happens.

Updates to this policy and questions

We review this policy when the website changes, when functions are added and when legal requirements develop; only the version published here applies, and the date above shows when it was last revised. Questions about it can be sent to zycroix at hello@zycroix.com, or asked by telephone on 01792 410386.
